My mind is empty. My heart is full. My body is busy.
Skipping Stones

It is mind blowing to me how distinctly unique each person is, and how drastically we differ from one another. In this same breath, it is even more incredible how many basic similarities we share with one another. In my short, almost two decade tenure on this planet, I have been fortunate enough to set foot in nine countries, living in two of them. Throughout my journey I have realized just how many faces I have encountered, thousands of smiles, hundreds of conversation, dozens of “how are you’s” and “good to see you’s”. Like a bug prancing on water, we skim the surface. We are endless skipping rocks, touching lives every time our silky smooth surface touches the water, only for a brief moment, quickly moving onto the next destination, eventually sinking and settling into a home among it’s colleagues in the seabed.
This is how we move through life, touching the surface of lives until we eventually sink into someone completely. We all have a select group of friends, and our family, our pack if you will. This pack is our comfort zone, it is those who are in our corner no matter what. Almost all encounters we have outside our ‘pack’, are almost always devoid of any value. This is due to the fact that all humans are innately selfish, we cannot bring ourselves to care about strangers and colleagues the same way we are about our pack. We are just not wired that way. But within these encounters outside our pack lies a monumental opportunity. It is the opportunity to impact another human’s life positively.
No, you are not going to change any lives by holding the door for someone. But you will be shooting a small positive ray of energy into the universe, you may be inspiring others, but above all you will be lifting the spirits of a stranger and maybe just maybe make their day. So go forward boldly, be unapologetically yourself, wave and smile at strangers, and if they flip you off, know you have done them good by absorbing their bad energy.

Drink abundantly from the cup of life, never turn down a memory, and most importantly, take every chance you get to lift others spirits. I sincerely believe, happiness is a choice you make each and every morning, and not a byproduct of whatever crazy shit life throws your way. Happiness is more contagious than the plague. What choice will you make tomorrow morning, and how will it impact others?
